Problem

Events happen throughout your life, and you want to be able to remember them for many years to come. At these events, refreshments are offered, usually from a table or bar. Renting equipment gets expensive after ordering it for each event, and most bars sold don't store away easily when not in use or can't travel with you to another location for an event. How can a bar help with remembering a moment for years to come?

Process

I started by interviewing hosts, brides, guests, setup crews, and catering. Each playing an important part of the experience. The focus stayed on aesthetics, portability, and storage. The process also included sketching, 3D forms, 3D prints, material testing, and packaging testing (to understand how it can be stored when it's not in use). To help with portability the idea of wood joinery to build the bar instead of hardware became the moving force for the project. Wood joinery and wood bending drew the attention of my interviewees and guided my design process.

Solution

Please welcome Benda Bah to the event scene. Benda Bah consists of simple joinery and decorative curves. The setup is easy, causing less stress and more time to be in the moment. The same applies to having great aesthetics, so the bar can draw attention and guests know where they can get their fill of drinks/food. The curved form does just that. Benda Bah gives an elevated experience by an easy build, curved beauty, and an environment to create those moments.
