Problem

Many people experience feelings of loneliness and isolation, which negatively impact their mental and emotional well-being. One of the most significant ways humans connect is through touch, yet many people, especially those living alone, lack this interaction. The absence of human touch can lead to heightened stress levels, anxiety, and depression. There's a need for a tangible solution that can mimic the comfort and emotional benefits of physical contact to support those in need of connection.

Process

Through research into the emotional and physiological effects of human touch, I discovered that its benefits extend far beyond simply "feeling good." Touch has been shown to reduce both blood pressure and cortisol levels as well as boost oxytocin. By exploring materials such as foam and incorporating pressure, I’ve found that these elements can effectively simulate the comforting sensation of being held or embraced.

Solution

The final collection of clothing gently hug or provide pressure to the wearer, mimicking the feeling of a comforting embrace. These garments are designed to be wearable in everyday situations, offering an accessible and discreet way to experience the benefits of touch to enhance the wearer's overall well-being.
